I thought the ballot papers were numbered in some way and possibly with a counterfoil? Mine certainly had some text and numbers on the back so whilst possibly not tied back to me if a whole load of papers were suddenly replaced I'm sure they'd be a trail.

That being said the 'use the pen' people are still idiots.

First referendum observation - chief counting officer Jenny Watson is quite attractive. Yours - the shallow party.

Sorry, but every election day I just can't thinking of Blackadder The Third.

"brutally accidentally cut off his own head while shaving"

Well, it appears 'leave' are going to win, by a margin of something like 4% on a turnout of over 70%. I'm disappointed but that's the result.

*ouch* Pound has tanked over night, now at it's lowest level since the 1980's (i.e. even lower than during either of the last two recessions)

I wonder how long it will take the SNP to call for a new independence referendum. Every single area in Scotland voted to remain.

Funnily enough we were discussing this in the office at work yesterday and one guy was going on holiday today and hadn't bought his travel money. He's screwed now!

Put me down for tomorrow. And for an entry visa.

Wow, I guess after living most of my life in London I just didn't get how small minded and parochial so much of this country has become. The Scots should be granted another referendum immediately if they want it.

statement from the French ambassador in New York "the EU must now change or die".

Stockmarket losses the last 24 hours = 40 years of EU contributions. Total losses on the global stock markets = 26 years of NHS funding (i.e. 26 * the entire budget of the NHS) It's all going very well!

Nigel Farage has just held a 'press conference' (i.e. a scrum) where he's said we probably won't spend £350m a day more on the NHS and that immigration levels probably won't drop. Thoughts on that Steve?

do you remember the ERM (1981) well we lost our house in that we were made homeless with 2 young children and 1 on the way. we now own another house lock stock and barrel.

the £ goes down the £ goes up. the stock market goes down the stock market goes up.

those are my thoughts on that ...

Glad I sold most of my shares already... The rest will have to wait until the market recovers.

Yup and if you have a (none final salary) pension then its worth a lot less and any holidays will be more expensive

I imagine interest rates are gonna rise which, being a first time owner, means I'll be paying more than I did for the last twelve months.
