I'm 56 so reasonably aged! and have worn varifocals for the last 6years. Normally supplied by a popular high street retailer, this time however I noticed a deal on MSExpert so I thought I would try online via Speccyfoureyes. So far they seem ok and at 1/3 of the normal fee I'm quite happy too.

I’m finding varifocals a pain. I’ve had a pair for a year, and while they are OK for usual, casual stuff, actually trying to get things done relies a lot on head position and angling. I’m told that for screen use, I need “enhanced readers” that work at screen distances. So, economically, a poor decision made by me last year, Next time, it’s back to two normal pairs - distance and reading glasses. I’m not really seeing much of a benefit to me with the current pair.

What was the site you used? I found one that does reglazes on MSE (might as well put some older, expensive frames, to use again), but I’ll look around at others.

The deal referred to was Speccyfoureyes supplying a Superdry frame for £20. I had to pay an extra £75 for varifocals but postage was free so £95 all in.
The ones I have from Specsavers are, I must admit, better at the computer, but as I say 3 times the price.
If you look up lens options on the specsavers site you will see the elite varifocal priced at £119. This seems to have reduced in price since I got mine 3 years ago which were £289 then(frames were nothing special just an own brand wayfarer).
I found juggling two pairs a pain and quickly got used to my first pair of standard varifocals. The experience was dramatically improved by the elite version, such that I notice having to tip my head back with these new standard varifocals.

But will keep at it and then if needed reject them and either try with the different strength lenses (I think they were VERY quick when I tried them on in the shop and said I wasn't sure to up-sell me the Varifocals at over twice the cost) or even get them to do a set of glasses somewhere between my old prescription and my new one

Got B.A. and Murdock. Not really fussed on the other two, though Hannibal looks well. However that would mean buying Face for the sake of it, so...

Depending on whether or not the offer works the paint I got to do my bathroom could work out to be very good value.
Dulux are doing a 48 hour painting challenge on some of their paints over the bank holiday. If it all works as intended and they don't try to wriggle out of it on a technicality the paint should effectively end up being free!
In fact, if I only actually end up using one tin instead of the two I bought I could end up in profit if I take the spare back to B&Q for a refund.

£10 for the pair, very happy. I'll be selling Kratos eventually.

Also made £5 on some scratchcards.

Bought the nephew a Darth Vader mug and socks set for £4. 'I told you I wanted Minecraft Lego!'. Any hope he had for said Lego disappeared there and then.

Great for hacking out plants. Now I have a couple of raised garden borders that are in need of plants. Have to read up on gardening because I know jack about growing plants.

Might incorporate that ice cube tray into a diorama.

My wife bought me a couple of ice sphere molds.

Also, I did this last week. It was collected yesterday after firing.
