Got a cat? Hipster.
Got vinyl? Hipster.
Wear glasses? Hipster.
Renting? Hipster.
Own a bicycle? Hipster.

It doesn't. That's the point. It's all just mass generalisations. Owning Vinyl does not make one a hipster. Owning a film camera does not make one a hipster. And yet, the label continues. It's just generic blandness. We all know the constituent parts of what we think a Hipster is, but the labelling of such does not depend on types of items, just the items themselves. There's probably an online test which suggests how hipster you might be, but I'm certainly not going looking for it. (8+p Mark

Errr.... what? I have never, ever heard someone described as a hipster for having a mortgage or god forbid owning their own home. Vinyl records, yes, man buns, certainly, running and/or using breakfast cereal sodding cafes absolutely, but owning a house? My parents own a house and they're about as far for being hipster that, should they were actually meet any, the resulting annihilation event may destroy the entire planet.

A grand total of one. Which, amusingly enough, was the Samsonite luggage, based on having nicked a bag from my parents during the university move many moons ago.
