I trust you've read the Parker novels from Richard Stark/Donald Westlake? I liked the Mel Gibson film but the Statham one was utter pish. Always meant to try the Bolan books.

Just started the Burning Man by Alan Russell - the first in the Gideon and Sirius series. They're on a deal on kindle at the moment.
So far so good. I have the first three books and think I'll enjoy them.
Gideon is a K9 cop and Sirius his dog, based in LA. Quite a dramatic start to the book but I'll leave it there so no spoilers.

Night School. Just finished it. Could have been a bit better but otherwise good. 4/5 IMO.

My brother got me the first two Expanse books for my birthday. So read them and then have a look at the TV series I guess.

I haven't read a lot of it yet but I went to a talk/book signing thing by the author and she told a story that I hope is in there about a compressed air cannon and a box full of jelly, which was just brilliant.
