I watched The OA on Netflix I think...anyway didn't particularly want a binge but just put it on when I got in to unwind for a bit, or so I thought Went to bed at about midnight having watched the whole thing.

Gonna iPlayer Wipe at least, Cunk isn't really my sort of humour past the one minute mark, unfortunately.

'[LIFTED]' - a new word Brooker invented to describe 2016. Which unfortunately the forum won't let me use Also = Philomena Cunk meeting Brian Cox is the most meta thing ever.

I watched the big DC TV crossover recently (all three eps back-to-back). That must've cost a pretty penny to produce.

Finally finished Luke Cage... it actually tops Iron Man 2 and Thor: Dark World for the worst thing Marvel has made in recent years.
It's got nothing. I hate myself for forcing through it. Dialogue (that which you can actually make out) and logic go out the window, it ignores the rules it battered you over the head with, the lead just keeps muttering platitudes because there's a hundred other characters and none of them have anything interesting to say... It breaks down even further towards the end when it realises the mess needs tied up and they've managed to waste the obligatory 13 episodes. Same as Jessica Jones.
These aren't strictly spoilers but they give you a taste (I don't want anyone else watching this mess if I can help it)
Nobody notices a Humvee, not even when it's right behind them. In Harlem. Nor a 6 foot geezer with a giant rifle, which he's firing in broad daylight.
Luke Cage, a man who can break through walls, can't get out of a basement.
A man who wants nobody to know his name, keeps telling everybody all about himself. Loudly, and in public.
I can only assume the show was rushed from beginning to end. It's incredibly misjudged at best. Oh, and in case you're hoping it ties into previous shows or The Defenders, it doesn't. So please don't waste your time like I did in vague hope.

I actually watched Jessica Jones over Xmas (yes Casey I finally did it) with the bloke and it's was OK. Started watching Luke Cage thinking it was tied to the other show then realised it wasn't really. I think we've only seen 2 episodes so I'll avoid the rest.
Thanks

Try Daredevil - it's a lot easier going than Jones but you need to give it five episodes or so IIRC. Season 2 is fantastic from the get-go tbf. The shows are barely linked but Daredevil is the strongest link.

Second Opinion on BBC 2. I'm wondering if there will be a complaint from the government about the bit on the junior doctors strikes.

I'd love them to, because then an independant body would have the right to judge as to whether the claims made in the show (which I thought was pretty good but had a few misses tbh) are justifiable or not. Which is of course exactly why the government won't complain about it...

He explained the reasoning behind the JD's strike (from the doc's perspective) through the medium of cheese.

Supergirl, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, iZombie, and Supernatural have all been renewed for further adventures. For Supernatural, that's S13. (8+D
