Been a fan of Windows since 95 (3.1 and 3.11 weren't all that) though didn't like ME or Vista much. I do recall having a windows vs mac argument with a friend in the mid90s. The winning argument was the overwhelming amount of games for windows machines that Macs just didn't have.

Mac OS - our lab had iMacs (lab supervisor was a fan) but I always either had to take extra steps to do something in MacOS, or I would do something that was natural in windows but would cause the MacOS to crash. I think in that year of lab work, I crashed the iMac more times than I'd crashed my winxp laptop.

Having said that, I do love my iPhone. The iPad less so. But I haven't tried to alternatives so can't compare.

Linux - I've used a could of small form factor PCs at work for a bit project and decided to install Linux. Everything was alien and I had to research commands to use to get anything done. I have tried to dabble in Linux since Knoppix came out but never really invested the time or energy to learn.

My first experience was Windows 95. I used 3.1.1 a few years later at university, but didn't like it.

I bought a Mac Mini yesterday, and am about to post my first, (I think) Mac post in the Tech Support forum. *gulp*
