So my venerable Logitech M570 Trackball is showing signs of giving up the ghost (in particular it seems to be randomly double clicking when I haven't). The same thing happened to my old wired equivalent one so it's a definite weakness of the design.
Anywho, does anyone have any recommendations for good mice or trackballs? I'm after something that will fit and be comfortable to use with fairly large hands. This will be for use with my desktop PC so I'm not overly bothered about wireless and I could do with something robust enough to stand up to a bit of gaming (mainly RTS type stuff).
Soo, any suggestions/recommendations or things to avoid?

I've got a Logitech G502 and really like it. Fairly big, adjustable weight, lots of buttons, variable DPI. Amazon Link

Currently using a Razer Deathadder with my great paws for hands, so should be fine for you. The shape in particular is just what I want in a mouse, although that is of course rather subjective.

I am a fan of the Logitech Revolution series, they are bigger and fit comfortably in the hand.
I also have the Logitech Trackpad (using the Logitech Unifying protocol, the keyboard, mouse and trackpad are all connected to one dongle).
Other than that, I also like the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, you can still get them, if you look around. My oldest one is from 2003 and still going strong.

+1 for the deathadder. I bought it for gaming on my laptop and it works perfectly well. I never bought a gaming mousemat. Then again, I haven't played games on my laptop (or my PS3 for that matter) for the last couple of years.

Is it Razer that makes you register if you want to use any of their software these days?

You do with the Kraken headphones, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's the same with the rest of their kit.

I was looking for a more ergonomic mouse recently and ended up with a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse. It doesn't look like it should work, it looks too small for one, but it's the most comfortable mouse I've ever had.

I have a Sculpt as well, it isn't bad, just a big lump. The IntelliMouse Explorer and Logitech Revolution series offer a more ergonomic shape, IMHO.
