That's so gay Actually, it does kinda piss me off when people get offended on someone else's behalf, especially if they're wrong. You see it quite a lot in this overly PC / Paranoid TV culture of ours. However, I do find bigotry offensive. I guessed you were kidding / trolling, but some people do slag off people who are "different" from them in a very negative way, and it makes me want to punch them.

I agree with you, and I get annoyed when people are "offended" just for the sake of it, the "strongly-worded-letter-writers" of the world. In this case (and I bet you already 'got' this) I was offended on behalf of myself.

ye agreed, people who are PC will just end up in an asylum I once talked to a man who branded me a racist just because I said "most of the people I know in Birmingham are asian"

But, if the people that you know were born here they are not Asian, they are British and European, although their ancestry isn't. Still, that is really nit-picking.
It might be fair to say that all of the people that I know in London are Chinese if three blokes from my local Chinese takeaway moved to London to open a restaurant, as I currently don't know ANYONE in London.
It certainly isn't racist to state facts like that, but then some people see racism everywhere which is why healthy debate on the subject is always pounced on by PC do-gooders who fail to address genuine issues because someone might be offended.

Is this the part where I step in and say "looking at Bratty's post, it's just as well that the filter was working?" Geddit? Fag... Cigarette... Filter?

And as the comedian Steve Hughes said t'other week "...then be offended, when did 'sticks and stones may break my bones' stop being relevant? Isn't that what you teach children? It's what you teach toddlers 'He called me an idiot', 'don't worry about it, he's a dick'"

I always get strange looks in New York when I'm having a beer then say "I'm just popping outside to smoke a fag"

Very true. As a side note, he was fantastic at stand up.

It's even better if you miss out the word "smoke" and just say you're "having a fag"

Or if you haven't got any cigarettes left and you ask someone if you can bum a fag.
