You should be able to pop on any o/s you like just like on a "normal" desktop.

It's the same as a pc but with xeon processors (and usually scsi hdds).
But if you haven't got any HDD's then you can't put an OS on it.
Without a windows COA you'll only get £50 tops (with hdd's)

Jesus man, get that cleaned!! Lol
I may end up buying one sometime, just for a laugh, link it up to the network, and have a play around, see what I remember from college.

If you want to use it as a server then use a server OS. Do you know what HDD's it takes?

I'd install a gui on that server so you can see what you want to do.
I'm no linux expert so not sure if that's configured correctly..
A server needs to be able to do things (serve stuff) so whist it may have an OS, if it's not holding files or routing something it's not actually doing it's job.

Well what do you suggest i do?
I have got a HDD in it and i know that it works but I need to get something that i can show it works.
Im thinking of selling it so any tips?
Plus would it be a good idea just to put the disk inside the Server taped down so that the person who gets the computer can do as they please?
Cheers SAS

If you're not bunging Windows with it I'd say sell it as it is, possibly include a CD with the server ed. of Ubuntu on it. In all likelihood the person buying it would wipe whatever installation you've got on there already and re-install Ubuntu or install their own preferred Server OS, so personally it seems rather pointless to bother configuring the installation.

I wouldn't leave the HDD just taped down, it'll come loose in transet & damage the board.
Clean the case (cif works well) and sell it without the HDD. If it's collection only then show it working with the HDD then remove it (unless they want to buy it from you)
