Not sure if this has been posted already, I couldn't see it anywhere. Sadly another WW1 veteran passed away at the weekend. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8168691.stm Only 1 British veteran left, 3 in total  _________________ My Flickr PageNow with added ball and chain.

We kind of hit a time of history in the making. Until this weekend, there has been a living connection to the trenches of WWI, and the carnage. Not so now - it truly is history - books, recordings, images and artefacts remain.
On a slightly positive note, it’s good to see that some veterans of that conflict saw over 100 years.

I was thinking today 'did anyone slip through the net', is it possible there's someone who for whatever reason, isn't 'registered' as being a survivor but has lived on? Obviously the age thing makes it unlikely, but still, human error and all that  _________________Plain English advice on everything money, purchase and service related:

111 years old, hed prob be more crinkled than a packed of crisps  anyone noticed how the veterans last much longer than "normal" humans? _________________

I don't think they do. They're just more news-worthy. 111 is quite an age. I always got the impression that these last centenarian veterans were hanging on as long as possible to make bloody sure we never forget what they went through.
Anyway, what do we think about Incapability Brown's latest wheeze of having a veterans' memorial service?
Um, Mr B, have you forgotten already we do that every November anyway?
