Oh yes! The joys of flexi-time :D

Granted, I'll have to make up some hours if I want to take the flex time off, but being at work for 5 1/2 hours, with up to an hour for lunch? Sweeeeet! :D

Same here! Except I only ever work 4 1/2 on Friday. Except when we've deadlines. Like all the time atm :( And after so long hours automagically get converted to overtime, except I can't get overtime being a placement student, so they then vanish into the ether for me :( Boooooooo!

All you need to do now is invite your boss around for dinner, and you've got all the makings for a '70s sitcom script.

What about the token black neighbours and the old bigot from down the road? ;) :P

Perhaps it's too much "Tin Foil Hat" radio? but I read that as "the old bigfoot from down the road"

I tend to proof read before clicking submit, which was lucky, as I had originally written "the old faggot from down the road"

 Freudian slip? ;) :P  :etc: :JV_RULES:

Ah well, at least it's Friday. I can feel like sh*t, apathetic and even tearful at home tomorrow.
:?
Right, tea, then crappy jobs pile. I don't even feel like loud music, so there's definitely something wrong.
:(
Laters.

Morning,

I don't know why, but I sometimes feels the same way, nothing "amuses" me and I can't seem to pull myself out of it. I never really seem to have a "cure" as such either, I just wake up one day feeling so much better. Having said that, my Mister has been in the doldrums this week and I suspect it's because the weather has been so terrible, just as he was getting used to being warm and comfy.

Occasionally, when it's been going on long enough that I'm starting to irritate myself, I have to give myself a stiff talking to and then give myself a treat, even if it's just a "curly fries" night at the Tramway (a £1.50 cheer-up...bargain) It may sound corny, but forcing myself to cheer up is sometimes all it takes, and it works most of the time.

If all else fails, I find a man I quite like and cuddle myself happy

Aww. Ta. That's better already.

I am not sure what's at the root of this down stretch. It's been bubbling under for some time, and I think it's something to do with my career path, being fed up with where I live but not wanting to move, and not being sure what to do with the rest of my life.

In other words, a normal mid-life crisis! :D

Treats won't work. For one, the treats I want are too expensive right now. Still, there's a week away doing nothing but looking at scenery through a viewfinder coming up, in company of a good friend, which will be something that may lift my mood. Being away from home, and coming back to a shiny new bathroom may help, too.

We'll see. I'll get over it. If I dont' then I'll start to talk to some professionals about it.

It's worth getting in touch with your local NHS Headology team and seeing if the students are running any evening classes. I went to a course of 10 classes for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) about 2 years ago when I was suffering from extreme anxiety and depression, just going to the classes (with other people) really helped a lot and taught me some valuable lessons that I can still use myself when things get too much.

Now then Heather. Get that i-diddly-pod thingy of yours and crank up the volume on all the upbeat songs you possibly can. Works for me but there again, copious quantities of Bacardi, beer, wine or all three do help (temporarily).

I've been in this mid life crisis for about 35 years now and it's showing no signs of easing. The female mind though will get you through this in about a week after your lottery win. You will be able to change jobs weekly, move house monthly and have someone in to 'do' for you in a cleaning sort of way...

Getting away from things with the camera is good therapy - did it recently myself and all it takes is for me to revisit my pics and my mood is lifted instantly.

So, get a cup of tea, crank up the volume and look at some pics. Ignore Batman or tell him where to go - guaranteed to make you feel better :D

Al

Thanks chaps!

I've got the music running now - ABC, The Night You Murdered Love currently - and I'm considering what to do with umpteen badly photographed aerials and distribution boxes. I've discounted setting a lighted match under them.

Ah, now, there's Focal Point. That's getting interesting. If we can just stop taking in all the rest of the crapola, things might be worth getting up for again.

:)

Dave sorry you had a [LIFTED] time at the music festival, but part of me wonders if you shouldn't have expected some open drug use when there's an act called Ganjaman playing. And it was reggae, after all. ;) Glad you're feeling better now though.

The officials specifically stated they had a zero tollerance policy in force at the festival... :?

I don't know how they could say that when the people were smoking joints whilst walking past security and nobody said a thing... :?
