NEW YORK, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- A 27-year-old Monroe College graduate is suing the New York school, contending it has done little to help her find a job.

Trina Thompson, who graduated in April with a bachelor's degree, alleges in a Bronx Supreme Court lawsuit that she did not receive adequate employment leads and advice from the school's office of career advancement, the New York Post reported Sunday.

So she expects her college to find her a job and because they didnt help her (or help enough) and she doesnt have a job, its not her fault its the college and thus they must pay her a load of wonga
Hasnt she noticed a worldwide recession on!
On this one I hope she loses and has costs awarded against her

bloody students

We are talking about America, it is so much easier to find a ambulance chasing lawyer than a job...

I think part of the problem is that as an 18 year old, you are pushed into university and told you'll get better and bigger jobs, not that you might...

I still think it's stupid, but I guess I can relate a little...

I can't go into it too much, but I'm suing Saspro right now; I've spent too much time on these forums and it's cost me all the £75k jobs I could have got if I hadn't been lurking here.

I'm expecting at least a £300k payout 8-)

I suspect that this might be symptomatic of having bred a generation of people with entitlement issues.
We shall see.

Oi! I'll make sure the purple one doesn't hear that!

Film and TV would be a safer subject...They just sit around watching films and tv...

As a BA graduate in media, culture, film, TV and English (I did a very mixed course as you can tell), I can report that a film course is not unlike an English lit course. Except instead of sitting at home reading "Middlemarch" then discussing it, you sit in a lecture theatre watching "Picnic at Hanging Rock" then discuss it :)

We had a large practical section as well, and covered other such areas as Marketing, Art History and some Management as well. Continually assessed too.
