I knew that, but it does somewhat detract from the albeit limited comedic value of the statement, you muppet!

Dragging this thread back up, as since I last posted in it I have new tattoo's and piercings.
I've had some time away and for various reasons have a couple of new tattoo's.
I now have a smilie face inside my lip, this one is mainly just to make people laugh. (Feel free to call me stupid here)
I also have 'Why not?' under my arm (just below my armpit), this one is a bit more meaningful. (Free free to call me stupid here too)
Finally, I've got 4 piercings on my collar bone, 2 on each side. I liked the look of these, and it's something a little bit different. I'll explain each of the choices more if anyone cares enough to ask!

I am assuming you have to take all of the piercings out when you fight?

They can't be removed on a temporary basis, so yes and no. I wouldn't actually enter a competition with any of them in, it's probably against the rules, but more to the point it's just plain stupid and dangerous. I have however sparred with them in several times, I generally try to tape them up and usually they're ok.

Will upload them once I get the camera charged, and find someone to take the pics; I can't photograph either of them by myself due to their locations!

I was just wondering where you'd gotten to the other day. Glad to have you back and would love to see pics. My only criticism might be, surely anything you have to tape up, in case, is a bit of a liability? For example, I train with my glasses on, because in a real fight, I'd be wearing my glasses. See what I mean? If you get involved in a situation and have to take extra care over piercings, aren't you limiting yourself a little.
Also, I'm intrigued by the "Why Not?". I'd love to hear the story if you're up for telling it....

I agree, but in a street fight, I think I'm just as likely to get a piercing ripped out as I am to lose an eye. You can't see them when I'm wearing a shirt, so no-one would know to go for them, and if it's at the point where piercings are being ripped from my body, any other injury could be sustained. I'd also like to hope I'd be able to adequately defend myself before it got to that point. Finally, I tried to avoid confrontation outside of regulated environment as much as possible so, so far it hasn't been an issue! Sure. The shortened version is a little while ago I went through a rough patch, and my views, attitudes and reasons for life changed completely. My honest opinion now is that life is pointless and my only real aim is to be happy and have fun. The tattoo will always remind me of this stage, even if my views or opinions change in future, it'll always be there and remind me to keep my feet on the ground, and smile if I get into the same situation. It's also good because people often ask me about the piercings or lip tattoo, and the most common thing I get is, "But why?!" The actual words themselves do what they say on the tin. Sometimes you just need to ask yourself 'Why not?' and go for things. (See the "How I didn't ask her" thread for examples ) It's about seeing and/or taking oppurutnities in the interest of positivity!

I love it Dave. Very nice.
Although I disagree with your nihilism, it's a cool story.

Thanks, that's ok, I think most people disagree, but if nothing else, it's a good coversation maker.
