Hmm, once again I have to say maybe. No App store where there is any kind of rejection process would be able to please everyone all of the time. No rejection process that is carried out buy people many of whom will be still in training will be perfect either. Couple this with the need for Apple to serve it's own perceived interests (this is not an open source outlet) then a percentage of "mistakes" and disappointments are inevitable.

If there are say ten such disappointments a month this is still a satisfaction rate of 99.9%. I suspect most businesses would not be too unhappy with that. That said I am sure that Apple hate the negative publicity that comes with a controversial rejection and the process will get increasingly transparent as time goes on.

It wouldn't be so bad if a) the process was transparent and the criteria for rejection were clearly stated and consistent b) If developers or users want an App that isn't on the store, they could manually download and install it - at their own risk...

I thought it was Vista.

They were saying how their day to day machines were easier to use than the production team's Macs weren't they??

They also said OS X was too restrictive and basically for dumb people. What's the Terminal for then? :?

Ah, cool. I must have assumed they were on Vista.

I remember (the sensible) one of them saying something along the lines of "if you are a basic user, then it's great because a lot of the settings are hidden away. If you are an advanced user then it's great because you can change pretty much anything you want using the terminal".

They quickly changed the subject.

I have just tried out Comics

Thirty odd comics for 59p and a pretty good way to try out a range of comics and graphic novels.

This is the demo on YouTube

I read Marco's reply and, to be honest, he came off like a raving lunatic. :?

Some of the stuff Jason said isn't really valid (the iTunes tying in stuff), but most of the rest of his argument was fairly sound.

It's a must for non-Londoners! Never in my life has planning a tube journey been this easy! :D :D

The iPhone finally arrived this afternoon! Currently synching with my iMac... Still waiting for the SIM card to be activated.

Also annoyingly, the Apple documentation doesn't mention how to insert the SIM card, it seems to assume that the SIM card was installed before the 'phone is sent out to the customer... :?

It is very fat, compared to my iPod Touch, but a lot thinner than the htc (which has a push out QWERTZ keyboard). It is also a bit bigger - I thought they were based around the same basic design, guess not.

This one comes with a power adapter, something which the iPod was missing. Also nice is the fact that the headphone socket is at the top, not next to the Dock port - I have Sennheiser ear buds, which has a 90° bend in the plug, which gets in the way of the dock cable, or sticks out the side...

Edit: The SIM card should register itself in the next 24 hours! :evil

Edit 2: The automatic backlight level is much brighter on the iPod than the iPhone... Turned off and put both on max-bright and they looked about the same, but they seem to use a different algorithm for working out the actual intensity.
