Anyone remember that interview I went for on Friday?

Got a 'phone call this morning. Apparently they were really impressed with my skills, and I gave a good interview, but they had stronger candidates. Oh well.... :(

Sorry to hear that JV,

On the bright side, I have started getting some 'phone calls in the last few days, so it seems that my CV is getting noticed :)

Yesssss, unfortunately it's by the anti-terrorist brigade! ;) :P  :etc:

I'm sorry, was that inappropriate? :D

Which reminds me... A muslim was shot in the head with a starting pistol. Police believe it was race related.

I'll get my coat ;)

Car's still not back yet...

Not sure if I've told you, but on the 24th July, my car underwent a doozey.

I got home around 3 on that Friday, only to have my car park space stolen by mothers picking up their kids from the school at the bottom of the road.
So I parked my car, opposite the house, half on the road half on the pavement.
I got into the house, put my bag down, gave Sam a hello kiss, went into the kitchen and pulled some of the rice that I had made from the day before out of the fridge. I like to make 2 lots when I make it! :P
So I pulled the bowl out, and went out into the freezer in the shed to get a chicken out.
I had my head half in thr freezer when I heard this almighty thud, and a car alarm going off.
I quickly shot up, banging my head on the freezer lid, and running into the front room.
"What the hell was that?!" I said, looking out of the window to see if there'd be a bump outside. It's pretty rare, we live on a quite road.

I didn't want to be nosey so I just left it at that, sam was marking books. I don't think it botherd him that much.

Next thing, next door neighbours girlfriend came down the steps, kicking the frog orniment off the corner, again. Why does everyone do that?! Look where you're going!! She feebly knocked on the door after picking up Percy (my frog) And putting him down again.

So Sam opend it, because I was in the kitchen. "Kels" I heard Sam call for me, fear in his voice, because he knows what I'm like. "I think you'd better come here." So I went to the front door, to see this really tall lanky girl, with curly blonde hair down to her waist, balling her eyes out. "I've just reversed into the side of your car! I'm so sorry I've only been passed a week!" I pushed past, and walked over to see my car. Oh my God, it was in bits. I mean she hadn't just reversed into it, she REVERSED into it. Door was pretty much hanging off.

I quickly said. "Name, insurance, address and policy number" Go and write it down.

She rushed in crying, and back out with the paper, and she said "I'm so sorry" So I sharpishly said "Bit of advice for you love. You know when you have to reverse, you're supposed to look behind you, or use your mirrors. And do you know that peddle on the right hand side. IT's not a brake." And I walked in, I could have been much worse, some of the people I've seen before when they've had accidents.

So anyway, my car has been in the repair shop now since the 30th, and not going to get mine back until sometime next week.

Driving around in a stupid little Nissan Note now. God sakes.

Gosh, you're nice, I'm sure it helped her confidence no end to have that sort of sarcastic reaction to her first ACCIDENT as a new driver, when she's already upset. Seriously, would you have been happier if she'd offered her firstborn as recompense? At least she a) apologised and 2) had insurance, I've had dealings with drivers who don't even have that much.

I think it's a bit harsh to have a go at the girl and patronise her about the position of the pedals Bish. It's called an accident for a reason. She didn't mean to do it, and obviously was pretty upset about it. Being smart about it isn't going to help either of you.

I saw an accident yesterday. It was really strange, almost in slow motion. I'm pretty sure everyone involved could see it happening except for the driver at fault who went into the back of a little Daewoo Matix in a car park.

::EDIT::

Just saw your post Zippy, and I agree completely. The first thing I would have done is to reassure her. Tall and blonde? I'd have probably invited her in for a cup of tea!
