My surname is Mimer. Good luck Snowy, any idea where you'll be shipped to if it all works out? Bit harsh that. Have you ever been there? I spent a year there and they were all a pretty friendly bunch.

I wish I had something useful to contribute. Your list looks pretty comprehensive and I'm not sure I would change anything on it. The money should come at the end IMO.
Do you have any idea of the timescales involved? i.e. when you might be leaving?

Yeah, perhaps, my god father's an Aussie, he just got back from visiting his folks, and my sister spent a year out there working a while back. Just the impressions they gave and given snowy's intolerance of uh, intolerance, seemed worth passing on. It is a fabulous place, so much to see.

With the accommodation, if it isn't a paid-for company property and you have to sort out your own, then you should be eligible for the Living Away From Home Allowance, whereby you pay for rental from earnings before tax is taken. As a British citizen ( not subject ) you should be able to get the Reciprocal Healthcare (Medicare) scheme, otherwise the company should be entirely responsible for any medical costs.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Fixed. Although I think it's a retarded phrase, and doesn't make a lot of sense. To me, they're the pomes!

Yes, "I would ask these..." - it got amended slightly, and recieved well at the meeting this morning - they are compiling their response now, but with some things up in the air still, it might not be EVERYTHING... but I'm happy how I've started the ball rolling.... Adelaide. October. They're going to give me one month's notice ahead of the flight date - which'll be more than enough time (I'm off to the I.O.W this weekend to cross off 95% of my family visits - leaving only my Dad to go see between now and then) I've been before, and have learnt to suffer them in London a fair bit - I actually plan to use the time out there to really focus on my personal goals - it's a gamble of a plan given how I am prone to cabin fever - but I plan to use the Australian summer to purge, meditate and read. It may have quite an effect. cheers for that Matt - I will pass on both pass that on to my office manager who is doing all the legwork for this...

This is no doubt very off topic, but I'm very, very intrigued by this. Would you care to elaborate, or not really?

Given where he's going, I believe the correct word is 'dunny'. Jon

I meant more as in why. Not "what do you mean?"

What? Yes - purge - as in limit, or indeed cut out, my excesses.
Why? I am approaching the decade* mark of full-on excess - perhaps its time.
*if we discount activities conducted prior to legal consumption age - although in reality it's more like 12 years.
