You are not even a dot in this image. Not even a fraction of a pixel.

Thanks, Paul. I was quite happy with my lot until then.

"Space," it says, "is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."

Kinda puts the "Religeon" thread into perspective doesn't it - all that fighting and torment in the name of various "gods" when the sum total of human activity can hardly be seen from the edge of our own atmosphere and our planet can barely be seen from the edge of our own solar system! Humans are so arrogant to believe that we matter, even a little.

Well, let's just thank god that there is no other intelligent life in the universe, to point and laugh at us!

That kind of implies there's any kind of intelligent life - other than the dolphins - on this apathetic bloody planet.

Did you see what I did there? 8-)

Unless you want the bloody things to print doubled sided, the right way up, from the side-feeder. ;)

So, I am not as intelligent as a photocopier. That neatly fits your original statement. ;)

Either that, or I face the fact that I am frequently humbled by a crappy HP office tool. :|

I think the order is:
Photocopier
Humans
Dolphins (as they really should have invented a word for "look out tuna nets" by now.)

We're a species that invests billions finding ways to blow up other humans or give them a nasty virus - we're not intelligent, we're a bad combination of "resourceful yet vindictive".

I just found out recently 'Cosmos' is just out on DVD again after being out of print for a very long time. I've bought a copy. Not for me, but for my currently 8 month old nephew. One day, he'll thank me for it.

Hmm. That'll be like someone giving you an 8-Track and telling you it's awesome. He won't know what to do with a DVD when he's old enough to watch it! ;)
