Hello all,

I am looking to buy a digital TV tuner card for my PC, so I can watch and record the occasional programs.

I don't need any fancy features, but a good interface, like Apple FrontRow, would a definite plus. My budget is about £30 to £50, if possible.

Thanks,

Peter.

I use a Hauppauge Nova-T 500.
Dual tuner freeview card.
It'll work with media centre no worries & looks good.
Was about £50 last time I checked.

That looks quite good, thanks. I've found it for £53 including delivery, which seems quite a good price.

I'll just wait in case there are any further suggestions, or I will certainly order that one.

Cheers,

Peter.

If you post your specs, it might be easier to select one.
The Nova-T 500 has 2 tuners so you can record one thing whilst watching another.

Media portal would make a nice front end for any tuner you select.

If you've got a spare pci-e slot then I've got a couple of hybrid cards going cheap (dual freeview & dual analogue).

I don't have a spare slot, unfortunately.

I have a Pinnacle Diversity card, that works well with the Windows Media Center on Vista HP/Ultimate very nicely. I haven't tried any other software, MC is good enough for me.

You've filled all of them  There's 3x pci-e x1's on that board. What have you got in them?

Maybe I'm being thick, but I can only see one PCI-E slot. Do you mean standard PCI?

Peter.

There's a PCI-e x16 slot for your GPU but that board also has 3 PCI-e x1 slots as well as 2 standard PCI slots.

Seems Sas has you covered. I have an Hauppauge WinTV PCI which was great, but I know use a USB Avermedia box which does 1080i (when it arrives) and records and plays freeview beautifully. I would recommend it.
