Must be why we all have 2mp SLRs then eh?

I'll do a real test when I get a spare minute and see whats what. Or just scan the article from PP which quite clearly shows the difference in captured detail between the 12mp D3 and the 24mp D3X.

Detail captured is not the same as detail printed out.

Erm, how do you think the magazine showed the detail? Its a magazine. Its printed.

Also taken from another site regarding displaying images on a monitor:

"....a 10 MP image taken with a 10 MP camera, when
compared to a 3 MP image taken with that exact same camera, may have
richer details that survive all of the software-interpolation and
physical interpolation..."

I have not seen the mag. Neither do I know what resolution the printers of the magazine were able to print out at. Is 300dpi not common? so a full page image could be 8*300*11*300= 8Mpx They then could zoom in a bit if they wanted. The point is how often do you print out full size A4 pics from an image snapped on a phone?

Also what is with the use of the word "may" are they saying that in certain circumstance the 3 Mpx camera will give richer detail?
