My sister has been offered a 17", 1.8GHz, 1.25GB RAM iMac G5 by her boss for £125.
What OS will it take? Will Leopard work? I know Snow Leopard won't.
Also, will iLife and iWork 09 both work on it? I presume they will work if Leopard works?
Thanks

Leopard and iLife/iWork '09 will work, and shouldn't be too bad. Sounds like a nice deal.

Cool, nice one!
He also had a 2.0GHz G5 but with only 512MB of RAM for £100.
But I suggested the one with more RAM as the processor ain't too important for browsing the internet etc...
How easy is it to upgrade RAM in a G5 iMac?

I'd take the faster CPU personally and throw some memory in it.

I'm with Nick. Use the extra money to buy more RAM...

Go for the 2GHz one and spend the extra couple of quid on RAM

Remember that there is 2 version of the G5. One takes DDR and one takes DDR2 Depends on when it was made

Just had a check back on the Crucial website. The V2 iMac G5 are the 1.9 and 2.1GHz models. Just had a panic moment there for a sec
