I had a 486DX2 66MHz an laughed in the faces of the slow 386 machines and 486SX wanabees with their missing FPU! I was in gaming heaven lol Although at the time a soundcard and speakers were an optional extra. Only one other person at my school had a PC. I'm sure at the time PCs werent considered gaming machines at all really, or at least not mainstream.
I also remember upgrading later from 4 to 8MB of RAM for £90+VAT!!!
A year down the line (I think) and P60/P66 started to hit the market. I craved for one. That or the DX4100. I didnt upgrade the CPU though until I got the AMD K6-2 333MHz and a Voodoo2
