Hello all,

For some strange reason, my wireless connection keeps dropping. I have never experienced this before, but it keeps losing the connection every 30 seconds or so.

I have tried on another computer and have changed the wireless channel, but it just won't stay connected!

Any ideas, please?

Thanks,

Peter.

Thought a few details of the setup might be useful:

  • Router: KCorp KLS-5810
  • Security: WPA2
  • Channel: Tried 01, 09, 11 and 13

If you need anything else, just let me know :)

Peter.

What wireless cards are you using? I had the same problem with my RealTek USB and PCI wifi cards. Mostly based on the RTL8185/8187 chipsets.

Other than that, tried just WPA?

The problem is affecting a huge variety of wireless cards, including the one in my iPhone. It seems like a problem with the router I think.

I don't really know how to do that, sorry. The only options I have are "Off", "WEP" and "WPA2".

Thanks,

Peter.

Thanks, I will try that later.

I am struggling to get a digital or analogue television signal this afternoon. Could this be related?

Thanks,

Peter.

Two questions. Who is your ISP? I'm having murders with TalkTalk at the moment, but let's not go there right now.

Second question. You don't live in the Bermuda Triangle, do you? ;)

If it comes back to haunt you......

I had similar and saspro suggested updating the firmware of the router - which I've done and it seems to be fine now. Look in the Networking bulleting board for the details - if I was clever I could probably put a link in here to it, but I'm not so I can't!
