He had a retured pilot onboard. That probably did it.

Picture the scene...the co-pilot freezes, the plane takes off and lands again 9 seconds later. After the plane lands, the co-pilot gets a message...."Windows has recovered from a serious error."

That looked proper scary. But does anyone else think the 'froze' line is a bit if a lie and the co-pilot actually wanted to lift for a few seconds? Might be the only change he ever gets to 'fly' one of those!

If you read the story you'll see that both pilots are retired RAF who actually flew these planes. Perhaps the co-pilot was just having a senior moment and recalling the good old days.

The police report will conclude: "He has performed an illegal operation and must be shut down."

I saw this event posted somewhere else with comments from (supposedly knowlegable) people, I'm guessing ex fliers, who suggested that all might not be as it seems and said that the flaps appeared to be set for take off, not a controlled taxi down the runway for a photo-shoot.

If the copilot didn't respond to being told to throttle back, why didn't the pilot immediately do it himself? If neither of them was licensed to fly, surely they'd have planned some safety margin with the speed.
