Hello all, I have all of my contacts stored in the Address Book application on my Mac (OS 10.5.8). When iTunes syncs with my iPhone (OS 3.1), all of my contacts appear on the phone's address book. This is all fairly standard I think. On my Mac, two of my contacts appear as: - Laura E******
Mobile: 07890 123456 Home: 01234 567890
- Laura F******
Mobile: 07890 123456 Home: 01234 567890
On my phone, two of my contacts appear as: - Laura E******
Mobile: 07890 123456 Home: 01234 567890
- Laura F******
Mobile: 07890 123456 Home: 01234 567890
That's exactly how I expect them to appear, so there's nothing unusual there. My only problem is when I compose a new text message and type "Laura", they are listed in the following order: - Laura E******
Home: 01234 567890 Mobile: 07890 123456
- Laura F******
Mobile: 07890 123456 Home: 01234 567890
Due to this, I accidentally sent a text to the first Laura's home telephone, due to the strange order they are listed in. You may also notice that the second Laura is not affected and her numbers are in the correct order. Hoping that makes some sense, is there any reason why this should be, please? Thank you, Peter.

AFAIK you can set the default number for a contact (I think).
Try changing this. Otherwise, not too sure. Double check that the mobile number is the standard mobile number (i.e. not the mobile (work) or mobile (home) number maybe?

Do you have any idea how I can do this, please? I've had a play around and a search on the Internet, but I can't find anything that obvious. Good thought, but they both use the same "Mobile" and "Home" categories. Thank you, Peter.

My girlfriend keeps sending me SMS messages to my home phone. It is very annoying, she asks why I haven't replied, well, I haven't been home yet, so I haven't read them yet! At least I live alone, if we had moved in together and her daughters were reading the messages sent to the house phone...

That was the reason I asked too. I sent my girlfriend a text to her house phone and her Dad read it out to the whole family Peter.

Thanks for the sympathy there, Oliver Her Dad already hates me, so I think I'll avoid him for a while. Luckily the text wasn't too bad, but it must have sounded awfully cheesy when he announced it to her entire family! Does anybody have a cure, please? I just don't see why her home number should appear first when sending a text message. Peter.

A good point made on another forum with the same question.
Just open the last conversation and reply to it. That way you don't have to enter a number at all.

I did think about that, thanks, but I like deleting texts as soon as I have replied. I often lend my phone to colleagues and I certainly don't want them reading my texts! Peter.
