Depends if it’s an air brick or not, I suppose.

No, it's taking the piss out of the age old "macs are easy to use" thing. :D

And also the minimalist design/few controls ethos.

Ah, okay.

So what we're saying is that "less is more" doesn't work in the real world. My mouse must have a gazillion user-programmable buttons, the uses for which I can't remember after the first hour of use apart from just clicking and right-clicking, and everything has to be waaaay more complicated in general than it really needs to be.

Is that right?

:D ;)

It depends. Mine has, according to the marketing has 12 buttons, although many are doubled and the scroll wheel counts as 3 buttons (up, down and click), not including tilting it from side to side... I don't use most of them.

That said, I feel lost on a mouse without a scroll wheel these days and the back button is very useful when surfing...

But, yes, a lot of the buttons are overkill for the non-specialist or non-gamin user.

I use a £50 gaming mouse at work :D Mainly because I don't really play games any more at home and get more use out of it at work. Especially as most of the time I use my laptop at home. My PC is barely turned on at all.

I would like the new Valo keyboard from Roccat to go with the Kone mouse though :D I pre-ordered (sorry to use the word Heather :)) it about a year ago and it's only just become available. It's about £100 though :(

I shouldn't have cancelled my pre-order as I'd have got it for £75 including delivery :(

Oddly enough, I find that I am better at gaming using my £3.50 PS/2 mouse than the Logitech laser mouse jobby I bought seperately :?

I feel a bit guilty now having just called NatWest and RBS to report my Maestro card as lost. They are replacing lost ones with Visa Debits as of today, so I wanted to make sure I got one ;)

This is the sixth NatWest card I have reported as lost in the last month because my postman keeps delivering them to the wrong houses. The guy on the phone was somewhat suspicious, but he didn't have a lot of choice but to cancel it and re-issue me with the new Visa Debit!

Peter.

I hate NatWest. The last time I asked them about VISA Debit cards (because of troubles with paying online) I was told that VISA Debit would not be used by NatWest. This was about 2 months ago IIRC.

It's on their website (Clicky) that they definitely are changing to Visa Debit from Autumn 2009 onwards. They are replacing cards in batches, except lost ones which will be replaced immediately.

Peter.
