I'm pretty sure I do have swine flu. I have a textbook list of symptoms and am really struggling to do anything.

I have quarantined myself and have emailed my Mum the authorisation number, so she can collect it in the morning. I will certainly ask her to see if there are alternatives to the large tablets.

I just feel so sorry for myself and am stuck watching some crap on Dave :evil:

Peter.

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Pandemic-f ... ptoms.aspx This 'list'?

* unusual tiredness,
* headache,
* runny nose,
* sore throat,
* shortness of breath or cough,
* loss of appetite,
* aching muscles,
* diarrhoea or vomiting.

Well that can be a flu (norovirus, bird flu or just a bog standard winter cold early), a stomach bug, food poisoning, another viral infection or one of MANY other medical illnesses

Hell, it can even be a HANGOVER

As I meant to say in a previous post but forgot, it's all about the worry well, the only one who can say is a doctor or similar medical professional, unless you hold a degree in medicine...

I understand that, but I'm sure it's some form of flu.

I am literally not able to lift my head from the pillow, nor am I even able to straighten my arms. My whole body is aching like mad!

Yet you are fine to be on a computer until 2am instead of resting... It doesn't seem as life threatening as you make out

As I said, unless you have a medical degree/infected yourself you don't know what it is

I never made out that it was life threatening, but I do feel really ill. Like when I had winter flu, I feel absolutely shattered, yet I am just not able to sleep at all. I haven't slept in 48 hours and don't think I will be any time soon.

I hope you get well soon Peter.

Now put aside the computer and try to get some rest. Over tiredness can cause some pretty bad symptoms by itself. Perhaps you should consider a sedative.

Thank you very much. I'm about to throw my Mac out of the window anyway for making an extremely annoying clicking noise. I may get some sleep once it shuts up!

Just one question, because I'm not sure what to do. I spent yesterday, whilst showing symptons of swine flu, in a confined hotel room. Do I need to contact the hotel tomorrow to report this, or is the room safe for future guests?

Peter.

They'll clean the room and change the linen. Even if you phone them, they won't do anything else.

However, I do rather enjoy the image of the hotel sounding the fire alarm and evacuating the building so that a space-suited decontamination squad can come in to spray the entire place with caustic soda :lol:

Are you sure about that? You never saw the hotel I stayed in ;)

I'm not sure, it makes strange noises all of the time. The noise that was frustrating me last night was a clicking noise every time I touched the casing :?

Its because it's a mac. I bet if you install Vista on it it'll be awesome. :lol:

B****y Symantec!

Got to upgrade the AV software this weekend - 70 machines over 3 sites...

The new AV software allows you to install or remove their package remotely.

Guess what facilities Symantec provide? You got it, install only! I have to remove it from each machine manually! GRRR!

Thank goodness for RDP! At least I can remotely access each machine and uninstall the package!

Are you upgrading v10 to v11?

If so, you can do it in place as an upgrade. It does it for you.

That make sense.

Ask the new providor for a kill program.

nob32 did it for one of our customers.
