Well, if they hadn't paid then good on him.

I found it a bit odd, this work happened in 2004 and yet the owner states:
Quote:
The work he carried out was defective and incomplete

If it was defective and incomplete how come it lasted for 5 years and they were sat down eating breakfast underneath the roof?

Yeah, but I live in a Godawful Housing Executive house that was built by a team of South Armagh Provo supporters, you demand what you can for as long as you can ;)

Hold on a farmer without a shotgun? I am surprised that the builder was not shot. The fact that the work was defective and still not completed after 5 years does not say much for the builder. Though the family can now sue the builder for the return of the fees paid and for the criminal damages. I would imagine that the builder will be going bankrupt as well as getting a criminal record.

The trouble is the situation is obviously not clear cut. Generally speaking the news people will simplify it to make it sound interesting, just so long as they sell papers/generate hits.

That is very true in this Golden Age of [LIFTED].

Well it said he was banned from the site before work could be finished.... I assume that the work would be finished by another company.

Ok, it's a fair cop Fin.

You know I only skim read things before expressing an opinion. It's a bad habit I've picked up here in your neck of the woods. :D

No it's not
If it was a bad habit you picked up 'up north' you wouldn't be able to read ;)
