Anyone played the demo?
I preordered it many moons ago and in all honesty I forgot about it! got the demo yesterday and oh my god.
Abso.
Lutely.
Phenom.
Enal.
Honestly. My jaw actually dropped when I saw the graphics, I don't think i've seen better in any game yet!

I've booked the day off work (23rd Oct). Will trawl the supermarkets the morning of release and see who's selling it cheapest!

Downloaded the (360) demo it last night - and I'm in indifferent.
All the (demo) cars felt very "floaty" - that might be down to the demo track - but it just didn't feel like there was a lot of tactile engagement with the road - although the car-handling physics were a nice mixture between silly-real-sim-like driving of GT (which have always got the better of me since I don't drive) and sillier titles that play up to an arcade-like style....
Sure it does look pretty, although perhaps a little too "hyper-real" for me (again that could purely be the demo track/day offerings) - but that's not enough for me... so since I'm a tightass, I won't be buying it to gamble on it getting any better - which is a pity since I'm still after a decent racer - but after downloading near every car/racing demo on XBL, I still keep returning again and again to the NFS: Most Wanted demo... I may well end up buying that after all.

Had a proper go of the demo last night with all of the vehicles. I found once I took off traction and stability control the experience got even better (I dont use auto brake and the racing line guides at all). Catching a slide in the Ferarri when I'd overcooked it into a corner felt great. Taking ABS off was a little tricky as I tended to lock the wheels under braking which I guess on the simulation mode destroys the tyres. Just need to get to grips with manual gearchange now.

Saw the advert on TV for the first time last night. The one with all the static pictures of cars. It took me a minute to realise it was the game advert and not real pics of cars.

Are any of the stores opening at midnight? Or will the supermarkets put the game on the shelf at midnight (Thursday)?

Tesco probably will, I doubt there will be a midnight launch, I know Game did for GTA but I think it's because it's multiplatform I might just go into Tesco and try after midnight to see the price, they might be over the odds but I'll hold off if it is, still waiting to see what the drift is like before I buy it myself

I'll pop to Tesco at midnight just for the heck of it. I think the game is going to be £35 on the high street so I can always call there the following morning - got the day off work!
