I don't usually answer calls from withheld telephone numbers, but I was driving and never realised until I had answered it on my car's system.

It was a foreign gentleman from Vodafone, trying to sell me a new contract. When I politely explained I was not interested, he seemed extremely offended and responded with: "…But, sir, I am from the Vodafone promotions department and I am here to bring you great savings"

It sounded very similar to a certain tale in the New Testament of the good book

Peter.

No it's where he uses 5 fish and 5 loaves of bread to offer unlimited texts and data ;)

I was in a call centre today in North London. The Indian guy opposite me actually said "I am bringing you great savings!".

Next time you talk to an Indian guy with a fake name, you'll know the call centre might actually be in N11

Thanks Fin, that's one of the rare things I've seen on the internet that actually made me laugh out loud. :D

That's odd. I received a missed call timed at 12:34 and a voicemail was left by them at 12:33. I know my phone's clock is spot on too :?

I ordered a DVD boxset from HMV a few weeks ago and have found today that it's just four copies of Disc 1 instead of different discs. I phoned HMV and without any hassle, they're sending out a brand new boxset. I'm even allowed to keep the old one :D
