Last nights car ad bit was very, very funny. I thought that their ad when the guy topped himself was simply hilarious- Yes, we can deal with the sick and sad aspect of this another time, but I was wetting myself laughing. Yes, it was very, very funny, but it was also very, very silly and it's just embarrassing watching people like those ad' blokes who clearly have absolutely no sense of humour where their work and TG is concerned.

The thing that kind of.. upset me about that piece was the ending. May's advert was
clever and a bit witty. Clarkson's advert wasn't. And, more to the point, Clarkson's advert would never ever get on the telly. Not just because of the punchline, but for all sorts of reasons like problems for peopel with photo-epilepsy and the like. Plus the ad didn't even match with the punchline - all the 'news reporter' talk was about quarantines, not about the Germans rolling in. It was a nice punchline I admit but it had nothing to do with the rest of the ad. In fact, you could just have shown the last frame of Clarkson's ad and it would have been just as effective. The fact that they preferred Clarkson's ad suggests quite a lot of the TG studio audience are, how did they say - steak and kidney lock openers.

The Aston-Martin last night. Yes, it might have been a bit of filler, but WOW! I know I want one, but I'll have to settle for that landscape. I'm guessing that it was Scotland, but I'm not very familiar with the wilds of the north enough to recognise it on TV.

It's either the north of Scotland or Snowdonia. The two are too similar to be able to tell apart without obvious landmarks.

I just put a bit of a long post up and then immediately deleted it.

I have just watched the clip again on the hard drive recorder and last night, I wasn't sure but I am now convinced that it was north Wales. Just after Jeremy's first speaking part, we see the car head on with mountains behind. As far as I am concerned, that can only be Lliwedd- the ridge that is one side of the Snowdon horseshoe and later we see Jezza climbing a steep winding road towards what looks like the same area with Llyn Gwynant in the background at the bottom of the valley- I was there last week- therefore taking the Llanberis pass road up to Pen-y-Pass, the favoured starting point for many Snowdon walkers.

later, I am pretty sure that he is on the road down to Llyn Gwynant with a brief shot of Snowdon summit in the background.

I didn't recognise many areas with long narrow roads, but they do exist and I am sorry to say that I don't know where some of those bridges are as the streams beneath them look fantastic.

Last night, although I thought that it could be Snowdonia, neither my wife nor I was convinced, but through the marvels of recorded TV, I can confirm that it was.

Anyone know when TG is back?

I'm kinda hoping it's a bit more coherent than the last series, but I'll watch it anyway for them racing cars through Belfast sewers, or something :D

Hopefully Hammond wont be trying as hard in the new series. I find his 'performances' in the news section almost cringe worthy.

Hmm, why hasn't he made an appearance in the "Slightly Annoying" thread yet?

Let's hope Hammond and May get haircuts before the new series.

They obviously have no idea what cocks they look !

+ 1 for Hammond. James' hair actually suits him.

I agree. James's hair does suit him. The earlier seasons it looked a bit of a mess tbh but he's somehow managed to pull it off. Unlike Hammond with his bead necklace and shaggy hair. I am finding the man increasingly irritating.
