I'm looking for a DVD recorder. It doesn't have to have a HDD, but it would be nice.
Can anyone recommend a decent model?
I rather not spend over £150, and most HDD models seem to be around £200+.
Cheers

I've had a Panasonic DVD+HDD recorder for over a year now, no problems so far. If you also have a Panasonic TV, you can use the one remote to control everything (Q-link). really recommended. They do some DVD-only models for about your budget level, though the HDD models tend to be about £220+ - worth going for the HDD models if you can afford it, as you can store quite a bit of video on there, plus you can edit out the adverts, etc!

I got a sony one off Amazon for about £90 last year. It's a great player, don't know how good a recorder is as I've never used the recording feature.

I've got a Sony HDD/DVD-R which is very good but it did cost me more than your budget a few years ago. Panasonic are supposed to be good value as well. This however is probably good (I haven't had a Sammy DVD but their kit generally seems to get good reviews) and is in your price range, if you're prepared to wait a bit.

Today was my last day at work, and my colleagues had a bit of a whip-round and put the money on one of those pre-paid credit card/gift voucher cards for Meadowhall in Sheffield. I bought the Samsung SH893 160GB. Cheers all.

If you have a PS3, get the plug in TV box for that. Spend the change on bigger HD for the PS3 and beer.
