http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/uk ... -go-640920I hate the way the ridiculous price makes it hard to know if the whole 'download business model' is being affected with it...

Going to be a while before it gets that low. 16GB of flash memory probably costs about 30 quid in bulk, same for the screen. Throw in the rest of it, packaging, transport, retailer costs, VAT etc and I doubt anyone along the chain would make a profit at £100 per unit - and handhelds have never been sold as loss leaders like 'home' consoles have. I suspect ~£150 is as low as we're likely to see the PSP Go get at least until the PSP2 is on the horizon. Jon

It seems expensive because it's still thought of as just a console. It's also a telephone (of sorts!), DRM-free music player, video player, web browser.
Admittedly, I'd rather keep my old PSP and just buy a 16gb memory stick, which would probably cost the same. Or even wait a little longer until the 32gb stick gets a little cheaper. As much as the nay-sayers hate UMD's, I've got a lot of Monty Python, Mighty Boosh and Family Guy discs that I want to use.

They REALLY need to sort out a method of transferring content you own to digital format, as the main issue I have against getting one. I own a load of UMD games.... yet there is no way to add it to a psn account and say surrender the originals. Instead you have to sell then rebuy at cost the games which seems stupid

Actually it doesn't. A PSP-3000 and a 16GB Duo Pro memory stick costs about £150 i.e. still 50 quid less than the Go even now. BTW, the US price for a Go (including sales tax) is £160 equivalent. Jon
