Rapidly getting to the point of no return for the royal mail IMHO.

I can't remember the last time I sent a paper letter............. excluding birthday and Christmas cards. :?

Bring it on. The more they strike, the bigger the backlog, the more extra staff they'll need to clear it, the more chance I have of getting some work this Christmas.

Well there's a surprise.

Next time I want to send a card to my friend in London I think I'll walk there with it instead.

Well if they want to commit commercial suicide then go on strike.

Plenty of competition out there.

Not strictly true, actually. There is LOTs of competition for ParcelForce from Couriers who want the "high-value" end of the market, but all the so-called "competitors" for standard mail & packets use Royal Mail's delivery services to get the "last mile" (i.e from their depot to the customer). So if RM are on strike the "competitors" won't be delivering either.

I use the parenthesis for "competitors" becuase these parasites can optimise their activities to minimise costs to themselves, whilst not maintaining any kind of "service" element. They leave the costly parts (i.e. delivery to homes & small businesses) to Royal Mail.... In my view this isn't competition it's licence to kill....

I do not think that the strike is in the staffs interest. The longer this goes on the worse it will be. Amazon now but how many more contracts will they lose?

See the article I posted in this section on those companies who are releasing statements about the issue...
