Would be fun. Now will they get rid of Tom?

I must try the MIs again - it was that long ago, I can't remember a damn thing about them

The original TV series was about team work, not all about Tom Cruise like the films.

Yeah, but the money deals around those films are legendary for practically everybody but the studio - probably couldn't afford a team ;)

Yes but you would not have to have big stars. Mission Impossible with good actors who are not superstars would have been just as practical. A good story and effects could have covered for the lack of a star. The original TV series had very little in the way of effects due to budget but was very good. Though that was in the days when they paid writers a lot more credit for their success.

A good story and effects? ;)

Probably hasn't happened since the original Matrix :?

Yes but the effects do not have to be huge great explosions. The TV series did their effects with prosthetics and an element of stealth and deception. Very rarely did you see explosions. CGI is not really necessary so will be cheaper.

I know what you mean, but nobody was ever gonna watch a Tom Cruise film that was just a spy thriller once his name was attached - it's still that way today in a sense, most of his recent films have been either high drama or high concept, the rest probably to work with the relevant director (Mr Mann etc).

Bryan Singer To Return To The X-MEN Franchise?? We've Heard Of His 'Interest' Before...Now There Are 'Talks'!!

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/42683

Couldn't be any worse than the Wolverine prequel  , but I can't really see it though - Wolverine 2's on it's way, as are Magneto and Prof. X, so Singer would probably need to be following X-Men 3, and it's not too often a director comes back into the fold for the fourth in a series :?

Toy Story 3 does look good but it will have to be amazing to do better than Toy Story 2. I wonder if those toys are going to try and track Andy down at college (!) they might walk in at an inopportune moment.... poor old Woody.

As for Independence Day 2, if Emmerich has that good a story I for one would rather Will Smith wasn't in it as he was the worst thing about the first one, and that's saying something. Perhaps Will doesn't think it is respectful towards Xenu and his Scientology buddies?

No more X Men movies! Please!

That sounded Ok until I saw that this film is going to be directed by John Landis who hasn't done a decent film since American Werewolf and that was in 1981! Anyone who has got The Three Amigos on his Filmography should quit moviemaking as that is the worst film ever made. The. Worst. Ever.

How can you not like TTA?

Though I haven't seen it in years, for some reason it's one of those films that never seem to be on TV :?

It is on one or other of the obscure cable channels from time to time. I genuinely cannot think of a worse film at the moment. Terrible cast, awful script, etc. Give me Hudson Hawk or even Jaws: The Revenge any day.
