Decided to start a new thread for any music news we find interesting... We'll see how it goes I guess  , but this is a good start:

That's the new (excellent from what I've heard so far) Lynyrd Skynyrd album streamed in it's entirety, with the album being released on 28/09/09 I believe :D

And I posted this in the Random Sh1t thread before I had the idea for this one  :

In addition, both CDs will be available to download.

The full track listing for the album is:

2. We Are The Champions
3. Radio Ga Ga

Make sure you tune in to BBC Radio 2 tomorrow night (tonight ;) ) to hear the second and final part of the station’s series on British heavy metal.Justin Lee Collins continues the story of British heavy metal and reaches 1977, when some fans thought bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple had become overblown, pompous and out of touch with their audience, and punk came along to change everything.

In this concluding part, JLC explains how the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal combined the spirit and DIY attitude of punk with the original metal concepts, hailing an era that would produce international stars such as Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and Motörhead.

The series includes rare BBC sessions and archive material, plus brand new interviews with members of Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Budgie, Saxon, Diamond Head, and many more – including Classic Rock’s very own Geoff Barton!

The first part of British Steel went out last week. You can hear the it on BBC iPlayer now – go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/documentaries

The final part is broadcast on BBC Radio 2 at 10pm tomorrow night (Saturday, October 3). It will then replace the first part on the BBC iPlayer if you miss it.

Good news for Squeezebox owners

Quote:
Queen have done a unique deal with Logitech. This means people who have the company’s Squeezebox Radio Wi-Fi Player can exclusively listen to the band’s upcoming Absolute Greatest compilation right now.

Not only that, but you’ll also be able to access unique photos, lyrics and audio commentaries from Brian May and Roger Taylor on each song. If you’ve got the Squeezebox, then select the Queen application from the menu.

Absolute Greatest is released by EMI on November 16.
