??? Why should Apple replace it for free? He threw it at a bear, that's her fault.

She was probably on the make. See if I can get a new 3GS if I throw the old one around in the woods.

This comment made me chuckle:

WinMo phone - "It looks like you're trying to eat a human - would you like help with that?"

Hmm. I just procrastinated away half my day reading inane comments. Is there an app for that?

Yes but the bear had an iPhone and it had an app on how to eat humans. :D

I really don't know what to say. There are just so many possibilities. The article seems to have covered most of the hideously awful puns.

The title of the post is even more ridiculous than the article's humour. "Woman distracts bear by throwing phone at it" would have been more accurate. I suspect any shiny thing would have worked, Apple-branded or not. Unless the bear decided it urgently needed one of its 5-a-day

I can just imagine it, the bear approaches, the woman pulls out her iphone...the bear thinks for a second..."oh god, it's one of those bloody iphone users, she's going to be really annoying and constantly fiddling with that thing, she is probably a vegetarian too so the meat will be all stringy..."

;)

Always make sure you have a photo of a pot of honey on your iPhone to distract bears. For wasps, a photo of a jam covered scone will do the job. Those on safari may find a picture of a doughnut to keep elephants under control.

iHoney and iJamScone have been ported to BSD and can now be downloaded from the CVS
