Great. So, even with a current HD TV we will still need another set top box.
The manufacturers are certainly doing well out of the digital switch-over.

I would be very annoyed if I'd just bought a HD digital TV only to find it would need a separate box for Freeview HD.
Thankfully I haven't got a HDTV yet.

I got mine knowing full well I'd get a freesat/freesat hd box

Still cant get freeview where I live, and I would want a proper box with PVR functionality

We don't get much terestrial around here. Where I last lived, there wasn't any signal, satellite was the only option...

So I know, when I upgrade to an HDTV, I'll need to upgrade my DVB-S box to DVB-S2 as well. But there is a distinct lack HD content on TV, unless it is football or subscription film services.

Given the average 2 hours a week I watch TV, it will be a long wait until I ujpgrade my TV...

Yip, only a cheap PS3 and access to essentially free games made me take the plunge, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered either...

Well I will not be bothering just yet either. I can not see the benefits, plus my TV gets so little use it will probably last twenty years before it needs replacing and that will be the reason I do so.
