lol i've got the sequencer now.

Has anyone been playing the challenges? I decided I was too crap at combat and needed some practice but still finding it difficult.

I did a couple of them, but they become impossible very quickly - gave up and sold it.

I think the challenges are set to the same difficulty as 'hard' on the story fights.

***SPOILERS***

Still playing the game in short bursts. Don't have the time or energy to play more than an hour at a time. 40% complete. Have managed to defeat the titans on my second attempt. Now just in that room where you can't use the gargoyles. Almost managed it first time with three enemies left when I got spotted.

Am I anywhere near completing the story part of the game or is there much much more?
Been trying to track down the riddles and secrets as I go along but some of them are too difficult to do.
Assuming the 9 points on the D-pad each represent a new weapon, I have: the batarang, the multi-batarang, the explosive gel, the remote control batarang, the batclaw, the decrypter and the bat line thing. What are the other two items?

***END OF SPOILERS***

I'd say you've got a while to go yet. Completing the single player game and collecting all of the items, doing the riddles etc nets you 86% complete I think. The challenges make up the rest. On the front screen where you load your game it tells you how much you have left. Met Killer Croc yet?

The one problem I found with the game was that it does seem like they made it a little too long and rather repetitive. The Zero Punctuation review summed it up perfectly.

I can see where you're coming from with respect to the repetitivity of the game but I haven't felt it as much as I have in other games. I tend to mix things up so one day i might button bash during the challenges, another I might just go collecting trophies/riddles and other times I may just carry on with the story.

I came back up to uni last weekend however after playing Batman for a while i think i'd just been without it for too long and expected too much from it so didn't enjoy the slow paced-ness as much as i'd hoped. However after the release and subsequent binge on Halo 3: ODST which came out on tuesday i found the resolve to carry on playing through the game.

Managed to complete the main storyline yesterday with all the riddles solved which, as Gav. said only nets you about 86% completion. Going through the challenge modes at the moment. I'm not necessarily finding them difficult, i know what i have to do, just executing it consistently and without screwing up is the hard part. I'd have never thought that a combat system which involved simply X to attack and Y to counter could be so hard to master lol.

I only just got round to playing the demo last night

Rather good, and I will buy it once I'm done with COD4 and GTA4 - I have a new policy of not buying any PS3 games until I've completed or threw the towel in with the current ones :D

Finished the story last night and spent this morning finishing finding all the riddles stuff.

The challenge modes are too difficult for me to complete.

Batman: Arkham has "run its course"

That was my thinking too, it'll be interesting to see how the gameplay changes...

I definitely expected a sequel after playing Arkham Asylum but it definitely needed to be set somewhere else. I feel like I've explored all of the asylum, more than I'd care to do so too. A truly open world could be done but the game would be immensely huge as a result and may cause problems with storage.

I just hope it's not just an extended version of the original game but something more.
