In fairness, she's not the first, nor the worst offender. All taken with a pinch of salt, I hope.

It's all good. As each one crawls out from under their rock it's a simple matter of adding their name to list of people whose posts I never have to see. Makes for a very enjoyable and intelligent forum experience.

Is there really an ignore button?

Indeed there is, Mr Cat. Add a user to your "foe" list in your profile and you won't see any posts from them. It's not perfect, but it certainly makes for a happier reading experience.

Seriously. You guys need to lighten up!
Just because I said I don't like Macs, I'm a PC girl. End of story.
If you told me you didn't like, gah, I dunno, jam on toast? Then would I put you on ignore, AND insult you by calling you illiterate?
Let's be honest, I'm not the worst here, literacy wise.
So lighten up. Geez.

Hey, I haven't trolled for ages! I'm doing cold turkey and uniting with mac users in a mutual dislike of Windows!

We kinda miss the old Gav. But then, without your main sparring partner Marklar77, it's no fun.

bish I am sure you meant no offence. It is just that the Mac User forums that we have used for years just don't have random attacks from non Mac users. Not even in humour. As far as I know Mac users don't make a habit of going to the PC boards and trolling either. This is the Mac Hardware board. Feel free to have fun dissing Macs in the six non Mac boards some of us may well join in with you. Indeed the News forum is the traditional battle ground for such light hearted rivalry. Hope this helps CC

Doh! I can't win! On a more serious note, and something that scares me deeply is how I'm about to inherit my missus' ipod touch 8gb as she's getting an iphone 3g as an upgrade. I fear I may be on a slippery slope...

It's ok, you can put Linux on an iPod.

You can put linux on pretty much anything, but it already has a form of UNIX allegedly, so I'd probably just leave it as it is. What you can't have is itunes on linux, so that's going to be a tad inconvenient.

I remember playing with that at a MUMU (what'll we call that now?) and I was pretty impressed.

I think some would wonder why you made that post in the Mac forum. I know I did. You don’t like Macs? Well, don’t come to a Mac board and say so. I don’t particularly like Windows. You won’t find me saying so in the PC forum, partly because I respect the individual choice of others, and I’d rather this was a friendly place, not one where petty arguments and trolling are the norm.

You may be able to jailbreak it and find a Linux app which talks to the jailbroken iPod in sme fashion. You could install Linux on the click wheel iPods, but not the iPod touch from what I can tell.
