I know people will say it's far too early, but I've been asked "what do you want for Christmas?" so many blinking times already that I've had enough, I've sat down, and I've come up with a couple of things which would be nice extras.
So. What do you want for Christmas?

I can never have enough whisky.
Anything I actually "need" I'll have bought already. Anything I just "want" is far too expensive or big or rare to expect anyone else to find. For example, I'd really like a beautiful robotic cat-girl maid with super-powers and a cute outfit.
I guess there's always comics, graphic novels, mangas or animé. However; few people would actually know what I wanted and there's nothing worse than getting something that's a either a duplicate or just total tosh. I guess I could produce a list, but I want so many that it would take forever to narrow it down. Actually my Amazon Wish-list would be a good place to start, lol.

That's very kind of you Ben, just get me something like.... Mmmm..... A PS3 game, PES2010 would be good for keeping me out of the way on Christmas day with all the relatives over.

Well normally I'd tap the missus up for something nice and expensive. Maybe that Tamron 17-50mm I've been after to replace my kit lens or a PS3. But, as I'm due to have a baby (well, technically she is due to have a baby) on boxing day I can see me getting nothing.

I make lists for Birthdays and Christmas usually, it takes the pressure off the person buying and doesn't restrict the use of imagination if people get inspired. I don't like knowing everything I'm getting though, and luckily my family and friends are pretty good about surprises. This year we're boycotting Xmyth almost completely. We're sending out cards, and will be giving money to family, and we've asked for money from everyone for our dream trip to Egypt over the holidays. We're both so sick of the entire business that we're deliberately boycotting, spending the entire break (from the 17th of Dec) in a muslim country and staying there until after New Year. We've also said that we don't want to have "Xmas" dinners with everyone we visit before we go, we're avoiding as much of the hype and rubbish as possible. Yep, the "Reds" are becoming the "Scrooges" this year!! And I've never looked forward to a Xmas more than I am this one

Thankfully I've arranged a truce with pretty much everyone in the Wench's side of the family. Apart from a couple of nieces and a nephew everyone else is grown up and anything that would naturally fall within typical present budgets would already have been bought.
Also, like JJ, most of the things I am into require a fair amount of knowledge to make a purchase, so apart from sending links to specific items on websites it becomes rather difficult.

Well, errr, have to see what Fther Christmas brings you on the day...Errrr, yeah.... Most of the things I've thought of so far have been expensive gifts, I'd quite like to get the new Apple mouse, but I'm not shelling out £55 of my own money for it... I'd like to get into photography, but even the basic SLRs are a couple of hundred atm (I may look into the second hand market and force the purple one to talk to my parents about it...)

1) Money (I'm saving for a snowboard) 2) Lynx Africa (spray and shower gel) 3) B&Q vouchers (I need a lot of LED light bulbs for the kitchen) 4) Amazon vouchers (I have a wish list a mile long)
I would ask for Dragon Age: Origins when it comes out, but my PC won't run it.

Sorry to be a humbug, but I couldn't care less.
Sure, we'll no doubt spend a small fortune of the kids, and I do love watching their faces on xmas morning, but I've already told my family if they absolutely must buy me something, socks will be fine. Maybe a spray and shower gel box.
I quite enjoy the xmas holiday, but I hate the run up to it.

Christmas list to myself: PS3, and perhaps a new TV.
