There are only two negatives to this story, one, that the bear didn't kill more people and two, that the police shot the bear.

Where is that, it's not on the page with the story.

here. And I suggest we take any disputes outside of here to avoid cluttering the news threads.

I can understand the backlash against the Stephen Fry comment, it was misjudged and badly conceived.
That said, there is no defence for mistreatment of such a fine animal as a bear and even more so the glorification in it by the audience, so in this case I stand by my statement, I feel more for the death of the bear, than the savages who died as a result of it's mistreatment.

I agree completely. The only negative from this story is the fact that the bear didn't manage to escape to the wild.

Would you really wish the bear killed more people, though, which is the part I objected to.

I'm not wishing anyone dead and I can't remember who said it but let's take the warning labels off stuff and let natural selection take it's course. Bears are killing machines, these people have forgotten to fear them, now a few them might remember they're not playthings for their amusement.

Pot, meet kettle. You accuse LAX of being abusive or whatever but the only abuse I have ever really seen comes from you in the direction of him. Was there really any necessity to make even your first comment in this thread? It didn't add in any way to the actual topic of discussion. Some of his comments may be extreme or harsh or whatever, if you don't like them then ignore them. Simples.

I have no sympathy for anyone, other than the bear.

+1 It is the animals that all my sympathies are with.

Thankfully, someone who can see where I'm coming from, thanks for the support whether you agree with me or not.
