I thought American Football was a slow game anyway. The clock stops every time they “reset” the players after each kick, they have breaks for adverts, A game can last hours. The only way to slow the game down is if they started reading Lord of the Rings out loud.

It is a slow game, it doesn't slow it down any more The clock only stops on a change of posession, incomplete pass or if the ball carrier goes out of bounds I enjoy it, some of the plays are very clever, it's a much more tactical game than rugby or football in that you have much more control over the clock, such as taking a knee when you are in posession to run down the clock while still retaining posession

Uhm... isn't their ball oval? Much like cricket then. Except games can last for days.

It has lots of toilet breaks if you are drinking coffee like an addict to stay awake to watch the game. I must admit I do enjoy Channel 5's show.

I was an avid watcher of Channel 4's show back in the eighties but have never got back into it.

I have to disagree, I think it is much faster than rugby and much more exciting as well. Especially as you can pass ball forward like common sense would command you to. Every time I change the channel and rugby is on, all I can see a massive pile of bodies either stacked up on the ball or massive hugging orgies (i think you call it a scrum). It is not very often that anything else is happening... I am not an expert on either of those two sport, I don't even know the rules tbh. But I watch NFL on Sundays if I am around and I get the remote into my hands...

It is a fun game to watch. When I was in the states I went to watch a college game with my then girlfriend and had an absolute ball. It was a lot of fun. I even lost my voice, as a result of cheering for the home team. And then there were the cheerleaders! Mmmm.

Yes, we'd all like to get behind the cheerleaders In all seriousness, if blokes are gonna support Yank football in the UK, that's a damn good starting point

American football is rubbish. Plus they wear more body armour than troops in Afghanistan.
