COD 4 problems

OK, I have a major issue with COD 4.

I can install it and it plays fine for a while. However, after a while I will start getting errors when trying to play the single player I get:

and if by some miracle I don't get that error, I get "Application failed to start because side-by-side configuration is incorrect".

I've tried reinstalling to no avail. Google hasn't turned up much. Can anyone help?

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 was causing the problem - currently having to temporarily disable it whilst I play, not an ideal solution.

Can you not set up an exception rule? Some Antivirus softwares let you specify files to ignore when running to prevent issues like this

Indeed, rule now set up - the option wasn't easy to find I must say.
