The clocks went back an hour this morning, I was really confused as my Mac said one thing, but all the clocks and phones said something different.... I usually let you lot let me know, but you have all failed me miserably. I hope you're all happy for confuzzling me

All bar the microwave, oven, kitchen clock and the analogue clock in my dashboard are radio controlled these days.
I just wish they'd stop messing with it and leave it either at GMT or BST all year. Does it really make any sense nowadays? We have electricity to light our streets, you know. It's never truly dark anywhere except the deep countryside, and cows will want milking whether it's light or not...

Just doing a test. I need to see if (like the old Dennis site) you have to change the time manually.
EDIT
Yep. I need to change the time in the forums options for my account.

No idea why changing users need to change their clocks. I've had to do it on my account & the main ACP so I would have thought it should carry across the board but it appears not to.

I was going to post a thread on this last night but I figured you were all grown up enough to not need reminding.
I was up until 4am bst but because of the change, I feel much more refreshed.

For the last week every single external door at uni has had reminders printed in massive fonts on fluorescent pink paper!

The clock in my car and the living room are both correct, as I didn't put them forward last time around... Is this deja vu, or did I mention this elsewhere? Or maybe it was last year... :etc:

I went around last night before I went to bed to change a number of them. Though I did not hang the kitchen clock properly. All done now.

The iMac, my phone, satellite receiver, alarm clock. desk clock and Windows PCs all updated themselves automatically (again, they are either network/satellite updates or atomic clocks (beside and desk). I had to change the house 'phone the cooker and the clock next to the television.
As to the changing, the German government is thinking of dropping summer time as a cost cutting measure, it should save around 400m€ a year, allegedly.

Very sensible, and something I've been saying for longer than I care to remember. Very few of the older phone systems had automatic summertime, in part because it's only recently been formulated in a predictable way. Twice a year I'd have to talk over 9000 people through changing it or dial in via a modem, which was very tedious indeed. Ironically, now that most systems are automatic it would actually need an update to stop them changing. Luckily, the Internet has made remote management very much easier than it was in the past.

Before we start banging on about dropping the time changes can we take a moment to consider how much material comedians around the world would lose...? I'm thinking about the likes of Michael Mcintyre, (which is probably spealt incorrectly but I don't care because my shoulder still hurts and this keyboard is crap) Remember the comics, folks!
