For once I'm looking forward to Christmas but then it's been a fracking awful few weeks so I'm planning retail/gaming therapy coupled with the usual Pagan tree.

We shall do the barest minimum, as usual.

Twinkly lights outside (to keep the neighbours quiet), but otherwise it'll be business as usual inside. A single guttering taper for warmth and illumination, cold soup and hard cheese for Christmas dinner.

I'll have nearly three weeks off or something like that, so I'll be getting fatter and playing PS3 - probably won't even get dressed

No Xmyth for us, I'm Pagan, my Mister has Pagan leanings and we're going to a Muslim country for the holidays. We're not putting up decs, we're not buying presents for anyone and we've asked anyone who wants to give us something, that we only want money to change into Egyptian Pounds for the trip.

We're both so sick of Xmas (I could do a proper soapbox rant here) but suffice to say, neither one of our families will allow us to spend the holiday, on our own, watching movies in our PJs and eating junk food, and with three sets of parents/family to visit we get to the end of the holidays shattered and grumpy, just in time to go back to work.

We did a lovely Yule last year, and I'd happily host a proper Yule feast when we've got a house that can fit more people in, the ones I used to do in the US were great fun. We only do Xmas for my nephews and my mum  otherwise I'd happily boycott the whole thing.

They banned Birmingham because it offended non-Christians?

Oh my.

I'm surprised they needed an excuse to ban Birmingham :-)

Well I have no idea of plans just yet as things are still up in the air. Though I will get together with a few friends. Though a quiet Christmas would be nice.

And we're increasingly being told it's the "holiday season" rather than Christmas. We may as well just join them all up and celebrate everything all the time.

Heretic! I don't post any cards until the last possible moment. If I remember, anyway.

I refuse to think about Christmas until after my sister’s birthday, which is at the end of November.

We appear to be slipping in the timescale of these (no pun intended) haven't we got another four still to come, including the Christmas Special?
