Sky is offering non-Sky Movie subscribers free access to its Sky Screen 1 and Sky Screen 1 HD from 6pm 30 Oct until 6am Monday 2 Nov.

Quote:
The Free Weekend Pass movies include:

Atonement
Enchanted
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
The Incredible Hulk
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Lions for Lambs
Superhero Movie
The Game Plan
The Mist
The Clone Wars (TV Series)
Sleepless in Seattle
The Usual Suspects
West Side Story
Bad Boys
Big
X-Men
Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind
Zulu
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
The Godfather
The Hunt for Red October

Now I'd have figured most of those films would have been shown quite frequently by now anyway, but I don't have Sky, so... :?

But I guess it'd be good to see 'em in HD :)

Except you need the HD (£10 extra) box

It's probably a shift to a new encryption so they can have a time to remove one form and set up a new one knowing Sky

Sky doesn't bother changing their encryption unless the present one is known to be broken... and they're not above seeding cards to see where things end up either. Allegedly.

As I say, don't have Sky, and wouldn't want it either ;)

I wonder if this is going to be like "the old days" back in Milton Keynes where SelecTV or MKTV, (whichever the cable company was at the time) used to do "free" weekends, where they showed the films, complete with scrolling text along the bottom of the screen telling you how you could become a subscriber.

I am suppried they dont so this more often. VIrgin did it some time ago ( might have been last year) but publisied it so badly that I didn't know about it until the last day- hardly a way to get you "hooked" on the premium channels

OK, so all we need to do is find a half African, half Chinese, half Asian, gay, one eyed, wheelchair bound dwarf with tourettes and a lisp, and a st st stutter and we could make the best panel show ever.
