just got a random thought and curious why well not some but a lot of girls are labelled "slag/whore/slut" etc Why do the girls that are labelled with those tags make the extra effort risking STI's etc to sleep around all the time? I got one friend like this who's had about 400 bfs (in a year) she cheats on her bfs and has a new bf or 2 every week and Ive never really confronted her about it, why do people do this? Is it a brain dysfunction where their instincts have full control of them where they feel they must "reproduce" etc? or are they just really just trashy and cant get enough? dunno if anyone could shed some light on this...

Isn't it odd that a guy who beds loads of women is a stud and a woman who beds loads of men is a slag?
I think that the natural assumption is that women are not easy and that for most men, the only requirement is that it must be female. Therefore a woman who sleeps with just about anyone is deemed unusual and often attracts unpleasant labels.
I suppose that I don't really have a problem with it, so long as safe sex is practised and so long as the woman isn't out to cause trouble by bedding loads of married men as that sort of story would be bound to get out and lead to trouble.
If a woman simply wants loads and loads of sex, then there may actually be something "wrong" with her that may require counselling. It depends on whether she is obsessed or not and whether she likes what she does.
I don't like the terms, but might consider employing one of them if a woman put it about without a care for pregnancy or disease and therefore without concern for anyone who follows.

I've wondered about this myself a few times tbh, I spose you can only go by the dictionary definition, which is probably 'promiscuous' or 'loose morals' or something similar And if that's the case, can you call a woman who sleeps with married men a slag? I'd edge toward that view myself, as I think that's a really scummy thing to do (no matter what the gender)...

That's just laziness on their part I do think in a lot of cases that many men have a subconscious ideal for women or even a girl that's in the process of growing up to be a woman (Christ, ever seen blokes go mushy over a baby girl?).

Most men I have come across who bed loads of women have been called "man-whores" or "man-slags". Whereas the term "stud" has been given to a man for some aesthetic reason. As to why such people do what they do, I've no idea. I know a couple who had been together for three years, the girl started cheating on the guy with her boss, now the guy and the girl have split up, she is now with her boss, and the guy has moved in with them All rather odd..

In the past me and Geekette have regularly called men slags when watching TV and some guy is being portrayed as some 'ideal' because he's bedded loads of women. Yeah, slags, slappers … we make no distinction between them. The terms can be equally applied to men as well as to women.

I believe 'Great hairy man tart' is the male equivalent

"Man-whore" is one I've heard used too.

Semantics. The numbers aren't the important thing. It's the attitude of the person involved. A flagrant disregard for the reasons behind their behaviour, and any consequences, gets them a label in my book. That said, I try not to label, as it's rare that you can truly know anyone else's personal circumstances. For the record, I'm incapable with women, so I'm probably an anti-whore man
