What sucks: I'm 95% sure I'm losing my job next month. What sucks: There's only one advertised job like mine in the whole UK at the moment. What sucks more: There are no suitable internal vacancies that I can move to.

Let's just hope that you either don't lose your job or something else suitable comes along. Either way, we're all here with whatever help, (practical or otherwise) and support we can offer.

It's a remix by "cassetteboy" of Nick Griffin's appearance on Question Time.

Chicken soup (Heinz - at lunchtime) and latte from the Klix machine don't make for a good mixture when you forget to wash your mug Al

Do you think quitting for a competitor a few years ago will go against me for that one job, or that the six years I had with them before I quit will stand me in good stead?

The six years beforehand will stand out higher IME, I've done similar with only 1 years "faithful" service and the years experience I had with them was the bit that interested my new employer.

I'm going to have to eat crow, don't tell Amnesia, but it looks like I'm going to have to buy a flat screen TV!
The Sony Wega is too deep to fit in the new house! They have a normal TV on the shelf built into the wall next to the fireplace, but the Sony is about 25% deeper and with the stand, just won't fit.
Looking at a 32-40" LCD at the weekend...

IBM ThinkPads are unkillable. Bought one for a fiver from a computer fair because it didn't work. Brung it home and plugged a charger into it. And to my surprise, it worked! I think I used a too high voltage though, as it released a little bit of smoke. In the middle of a game of GTA3. And it carried on working through it! It has a damaged keyboard though, as only a few keys work. However, at £30 for a keyboard, I'd rather pay a tenner and get the same model off ebay. It's got a smashed screen, but I can easily swap them over. Even that one tries to display a picture on the screen!
