Ah but another one of my political ideals is that anyone with a criminal conviction be denied any sort of benefits. They can scrounge off their family and friends or can get a job.

I'd have thought the obvious punishment would be for each one of them individually to be locked in a room with a pack of dogs. 48 hours each should do. No food or water allowed in.
