ATI cards struggling with HD channels in Windows 7

Sadly its all true. Since BBC changed its encoding for HD, ATI cards no-longer work, whereas NVIDIA ones do.
This is very annoying as in all other respects AMD\ATI kit offers a superior price\performance ratio!

Buy cheap, pay twice!
I'm not really surprised. They may get a fast card out from time to time, but the drivers often leave a lot to be desired and they cut corners in places where they probably shouldn't.
